FAREWELL

Two “celebrations of our time together” are planned to honor Fr. Carlton for his 14 years of service to St. Philip Neri Parish.  One, with a distinctly Latino flavor (music, dancing and food) will be held on Saturday evening, June 22nd. beginning about 7PM.  The party will be held in our Park (weather permitting) or Msgr Busald Hall.  All are welcome to join us!  The other celebration will be held on Sunday afternoon, June 30th from 3 to 6PM in our Park (weather permitting) or Msgr Busald Hall.  This will be a more casual reception with music and hors d’oeuvres.  If you can attend either or both, please come be with us.

NEW PASTOR

On Wednesday, July 3, 2013, Fr. Chris Wadelton, the current associate pastor of Holy Spirit in Indianapolis, will become the new pastor of St. Philip Neri.  After 14 years, Fr. Carlton will move on to become the pastor of St. Mary’s Parish in downtown Indianapolis.

MARY MC COY

It’s with sadness that I announce the departure of Mary McCoy as the principal of St. Philip Neri School at the end of this school year.  Mary has been with us for seven years.  She has taken a position as the Assistant Director of Catholic Education for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.  In my opinion, Mary has been the “best principal SPN has ever had” (at least in my 14 years as pastor of St. Philip).  In seven years, she has done much to improve student test scores, grow the enrollment and make SPN a great school.  She will really be missed!

CATHOLICS COME HOME

A nationwide campaign, “Catholics Come Home,” recently began to invite and welcome back those who have left the Church.  TV spots are being aired on networks throughout the U.S.  You can be the instrument of God’s grace.  You may be the messenger who invites another to come home.  Go to www.catholicscomehome.org and see how.
